Weizenbock (South German Style Weizenbock)

English Pronunciation: veye-tssen-bock

An ale comparable to the barley-based regular Bockbier (which is a lager). A Weizenbock is the strong version of an unfiltered Weissbier or Hefeweizen (wheat beer). It is usually made with 60 to 70% wheat malt. More or less opaque in appearance, they are fermented with a special yeast that gives the brew a slightly spicy, clove-like flavor.
