A general term for beer made with bottom fermenting yeast. Can be an American Lager or Pale Lager. Served at cooler temperatures, Lagers are the most popular big-brewery beers in America. Originally they were brewed in March or April, and left to mature until September. They generally stored from six weeks to six months of aging before use. The yeast strains that make them were originally propogated by accident.
